On July 12, 2023, the 12th Bavarian Innovation Congress took place at the TechBase in Regensburg. The event was organized by the Cluster Mobility & Logistics, the Digital Start-up Initiative Upper Palatinate (DGO) and TechBase on the topic of Circular Economy.

Climate change and resource scarcity, as well as ensuring industrial competitiveness and security of supply, are key drivers of the transformation from a traditional, linear economy to a circular economy. But how can we make value creation more sustainable and at the same time more resilient, use resources more intelligently and preserve them for future generations? The Innovation Congress highlighted various areas of transformation in three parallel forums: Mobility and Automotive - New mobility concepts and the transformation of the automotive industry in line with the Circular Economy; Circular Logistics - Technology and process solutions for closing industrial material cycles; and Foundations in line with the Circular Economy.
After a welcoming address by the Managing Director of R-Tech GmbH, Alexander Rupprecht, Regensburg's Head of Economics, Science and Finance, Prof. Dr. Georg Stephan Barfuß, made a plea in his keynote speech to make the recycling of resources economically viable. With e-mobility, artificial intelligence and life sciences, there are enough growth sectors in Regensburg, and it is now crucial to invest in them.
The subsequent lunch break invited participants to network in a relaxed atmosphere, while the parallel trade exhibition provided insights into the many different ways in which the circular economy can be implemented. All exhibitors are listed below.
