IT-Logistics cluster organized a virtual meeting for the Block.IS Ecosystem in cooperation with Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH and BerChain e.V.
As part of the EU-funded Block.IS project to build a cross-border and cross-sectoral innovation ecosystem in the sectors agrifood, logistics and fintech, the IT-Logistics cluster organized another cluster mission. An event of clusters for clusters from all over Europe to learn more about the cluster ecosystem in Berlin and to get a deeper insight into blockchain technology. Due to the current situation, the planned cluster mission took place virtually.
At the opening of the event, Michael Strobel, Project Manager IT-Logistics Cluster, welcomed the participants as virtual host and partner of the project Block.IS with a short introduction and an outlook on the course of the event.
In the first session Amira Gutmann-Trieb and Sascha Dobratz of Berlin Partner gave an introduction to the Cluster ICT, Media, Creative Industries in Berlin Brandenburg and the chances for the Blockchain-Community in Berlin. Afterwards colleagues and well-known partners of Berlin Partner presented some important projects and use cases of Blockchain technology.
After a short lunch break Silvan Jongerius, President of the Board BerChain e.V., opened the second session with focus on blockchain technology with his introduction to BerChain and Berlin as a Blockchain location. With the aim of deep-dive into the technology different members of the Blockchain-Community gave speeches on specific technological approaches and aspects as well as already implemented applications.
The cluster mission was concluded with a very interesting open Q&A session between the participants and the experts.
