Autonomous driving and acceptability: an impossible story?

06/02/2022

catch up on our webinar!

The RECIPROCITY project organised on 23 May 2022 a webinar on “Autonomous driving and acceptability”. The webinar was followed by a matchmaking session where all present stakeholders could meet each other and discuss key mobility topics.

In the first part, the webinar discussed the importance of creating an ecosystem within which different stakeholders can work together towards an increased acceptability of autonomous driving solutions. It offered best practices and highlighted effective ways of collaboration. The second part of the webinar presented two inspiring projects:

  • AI Trustworthiness and autonomous driving RISC and LCM (Austria): The outcome was an R&D roadmap on how to successfully realise autonomous driving in Upper Austria and which challenges we still have to face;
  • Autonomous People Mover Regensburg (EMILIA) by das Stadtwerk Regensburg Mobilität GmbH (Germany): Since 01 September 2021, two fully electric autonomous shuttle buses have been running on a ring route in the Regensburg industrial park as part of a two-year pilot project.

The third and last part of the webinar proposed matchmaking activities where stakeholders discussed topics of their interest and engaged with their peers.
