Bavarian State Prize | for Transport and Logistics

Cluster Mobility & Logistics is part of the expert panel

Transport and logistics are systemically relevant in Bavaria. Every day, local public transport brings millions of citizens safely to work, to educational institutions or to leisure activities. Logistics is also of fundamental importance to the economy as a whole: it is the basis of economic prosperity and guarantees security of supply for the Bavarian population.

The Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Building and Transport is making considerable investments to ensure that transport infrastructure in Bavaria is modern, digitally networked, sustainable and safe. Ultimately, however, it is the people who work in the transport and logistics industry - whether as bus, lorry, suburban train or underground train drivers, train drivers, conductors, in administration, logistics or in construction and maintenance - who make the difference with their tireless, daily commitment and ensure the performance and resilience of transport and logistics. The state award is intended to help make the importance and attractiveness of the industry visible to the Bavarian public and to thank the people in the industry for this commitment.

New award recognises | the transport and logistics industry

Minister of State Christian Bernreiter is therefore organising the Bavarian State Prize for Transport and Logistics for the first time in 2024. The prize honours outstanding and exceptional achievements, commitment or specific projects and companies in the context of the Bavarian transport and logistics industry. The state prize includes all types of commercial transport - i.e. passenger and freight transport. ‘Outstanding and exceptional’ is defined by the role model character, the image effect or a pioneering role for the industry itself or beyond.

Bernreiter is calling on individuals, companies, institutions, organisations, groups of people or projects to apply directly or make suggestions.

The application or applicants should fulfil the following requirements:

  • Company headquarters, branch or centre of professional activity in Bavaria
  • Activity in the transport and logistics industry
  • Outstanding and exceptional performance, activities beyond what is customary in the industry or can be expected in the context of professional activity

The State Prize is awarded as an open-topic State Prize. In addition, up to three themed state prizes can be awarded in the following categories:
