The kick-off of the webinar series "Fördermittel kompakt" of the Mobility & Logistics Cluster on February 22, 2024 was quite something - the first webinar dealt with the "research allowance", an extremely serious tax incentive for innovation that can have great financial potential for many companies.
Essentially, the research allowance includes a financial reimbursement of internal personnel costs and external R&D expenses. This funding offers enormous advantages over traditional funding programs and is particularly interesting for start-ups and SMEs due to its flexibility. The research allowance is characterized by the possibility of applying for funding retroactively for up to four years for projects that have already been completed (including aborted projects) and can be applied additively. It also stands out from other R&D funding due to the comparatively low application effort in relation to the funding amount.
In the webinar, our experts Konrad Kirchbihler and Susanne Deisböck from LEYTON Deutschland GmbH explained what the research allowance has to offer in terms of content. Specific practical examples were used to show when this funding instrument is useful and when it is not.
Thenext webinar in the "Fördermittel kompakt" series on March 7 will focus on the "KI-Transfer-Plus" program.

The webinar series "Fördermittel kompakt" is part of the Digital Innovation Ostbayern (DInO) project, which is one of three European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) in Bavaria. The project focuses on the digital transformation of SMEs and public administrations.
