On May 10, 2024, the Mobility & Logistics Cluster welcomed a delegation of South American company representatives and part-time MBA students from the Universidad Aldofo Ibáñez (UAI) to TechBase. The delegation visited Regensburg with the aim of getting to know the local innovation ecosystem and the business location. UAI is one of the leading business schools in South America and trains the future leaders of the regions there.
After a welcome address by Uwe Pfeil, Cluster Manager Cluster Mobility & Logistics, Juan Pablo Torres from UAI gave the Bavarian attendees an introduction to the South American and, in particular, Chilean economic region. Philipp Berr from the City of Regensburg then presented the (economic) history of the city with a special focus on the importance of the universities in the location. Leonie Bechtold from the Mobility & Logistics Cluster then presented the TechBase, the Mobility & Logistics Cluster and the DInO project, Digital Innovation Ostbayern. Markus Huber from the international department of the Regensburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Upper Palatinate and Kelheim then focused on international networks in the region and how they drive investment and innovation for the generation of new ideas and companies.
After the three presentations and a presentation by a Regensburg company and cluster member, the event moved on to networking. The future managers from Chile, Peru and Argentina showed great interest in the Regensburg region's economic development policy and its history. The B2B matchmaking provided an excellent opportunity to represent Regensburg internationally as a business location. The delegation was made up of companies from various sectors, including transportation, technology, energy, telecommunications and industry.
