On June 28, 2023, the Cluster Mobility & Logistics and our member, the Witt Group, invited guests to take a look behind the scenes at the Witt Group as part of the "Cluster Mobility & Logistics on Site" event.
After a warm welcome by Florian Zweckerl from the Mobility & Logistics Cluster and Roland Dietz, Head of Logistics (Witt Group), Mr. Dietz presented all the important facts about the Witt Group in a lecture.
The 20 participants were then guided through the Witt Group's goods distribution center in two groups. Here they were able to see all the key intralogistics processes of a fashion retailer:
- Incoming goods including automatic, video-based goods recognition
- Warehousing with a large high-bay warehouse
- Replenishment control including extensive conveyor technology
- Picking of consignments with picking process and batch sorting
- Packing of customer shipments via two synchronized packing systems
- Outgoing shipments
