On 22.10.2024, the Bavarian IHKs, above all the IHK Regensburg für Oberpfalz/Kelheim, in cooperation with Digital Innovation Ostbayern (DInO) and the Cluster Mobility & Logistics, organized a comprehensive webinar on the tax innovation grant “Forschungszulage”. Over 160 registered participants were able to learn all the details about applying for this unique funding from several experts. The webinar was moderated by Michael Vogel, Innovation Officer at IHK Regensburg.
The webinar started with an all-round presentation by Thomas Matigat, Deputy Head of the Certification Office for Research Grants (BSFZ). This is where the eligibility of a company's innovative project is determined in the first step of the application. If successful, the BSFZ issues a certificate with which the research allowance can be claimed from the tax office in the second step. Tax consultant and auditor Georg Schemela gave an in-depth insight into this process.
The webinar was then rounded off with two reports from corporate practice: Stefan Schroff from ams-OSRAM International GmbH reported on his experience with the grant, as did the founder and Managing Director of Schneider IT-Solutions, Tobias Schneider. The two very different perspectives of a large company and a sole trader were particularly interesting. The participants had plenty of opportunity to ask their questions, which were answered by the experts and the two company representatives.
