New project ideas for the Urban Space Real Laboratory were developed on 14 October 2024 at an exclusive workshop for and with members of Regensburg's city administration. Digital innovations are to be tested in the R_Lab Mobility in order to shape the mobility of the future for Regensburg; projects are still to be awarded for 2025.
In order to find out what challenges are currently on the minds of those responsible in the city of Regensburg, heads of offices and departments were invited to participate directly in the project development workshop. This made it possible to identify needs and develop possible solutions, which are now being evaluated by the R_Lab project management team. The focus was on
- The management of stationary traffic, such as disabled parking spaces and e-charging points,
- the improvement of public transport based on data to be collected,
- road safety for cyclists,
- the recording of visitor flows at major events,
- smart packing stations and
- autonomous driving.
The next step will be a follow-up workshop on Tuesday, 12 November 2024 for companies to contribute their solutions to the existing ideas. The next application projects for 2025 will then be concretised.
