On Monday, 20.01.2025, Logistics Monday was all about greenhouse gas emissions in the logistics sector. Together with the Logistics Talks of the Logistik Initiative Bayern, an exciting and informative webinar was offered, which presented the participants with valuable insights and innovative solutions.
After a welcome by Melanie Terne from Cluster Mobility & Logistics, Dr. Johannes Kraus from CNA e.V. presented the latest findings of the Bavarian Logistics Barometer. This is a monthly management and expert survey of the transport and logistics sector in the Free State of Bavaria and beyond.
The main topic of the event was then presented. Jacqueline Fritz from the Steinbeis Europa Zentrum presented the ADMIRAL project to the participants. Transport in logistics currently accounts for around a quarter of emissions, with road freight transport in particular playing a major role. With a focus on EU regulation and the challenges of Scope 1 to Scope 3 emissions, the ADMIRAL project lays an important foundation for reducing CO2 emissions in the logistics sector.
The highlights of the project include the development of an AI-supported digital ADMIRAL Green Logistics Marketplace for logistics services - a platform that could revolutionize the logistics market. It integrates different modes of transport and their CO2 footprints. Pilot projects in Portugal-Spain, Finland, Lithuania and Slovenia-Croatia demonstrate the potential for optimization and CO2 reduction.
Many thanks to the participants.
